Professor William W. Au, Shantou University Medical College, Shantou, China, was an Invited Distinguished Speaker to the 4th International Conference on Pharmacy and Pharmacological Sciences.The meeting was held in the historical and beautiful city, Istanbul, Turkey from September 18 – 21, 2014. The meeting was attended by 400 scientists who came from 35 countries.

The title of Professor Au’s presentation was “Use of Mechanism-based Evidence for the Development of Therapy for Human Cancers”. Many scientists attended Professor Au’s presentation. They showed their appreciation of the novel information which has enormous clinical applications.

During the conference, Her Royal Highness Professor Dr. Princess Chulahborn of Thailand was an invited keynote speaker. The title of the presentation from Her Royal Highness was “Medicinal Plants and Microorganisms in Drug Development”. Her Royal Highness and Professor Au have been colleagues and friends for more than 10 years. Therefore, Her Royal Highness invited Professor Au to her private meeting. Her Royal Highness and Professor Au exchanged greetings and scientific ideas. Professor Au wished the best of health to the father of her Royal Highness, the King of Thailand. In addition, Her Royal Highness invited Professor Au to be a speaker in her Cancer Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, 2014.

During the meeting, Professor Au also had meetings with top administrators and faculty of the Marmaras University. Specifically, he met with the President of the University, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Director for International Programs, etc. They agreed to develop bilateral collaborations. They will start working on an exchange program with faculty and students.
