Dr. Jingqiao Feng and Dr. Peiwei Cai from the Department of Neonatology and Department of Ultrasound at the First Affiliated Hospital of SUMC, and Dr. Yuqiang Huang and Dr. Yuansheng Zhou from the Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong were sent on a nine-month medical mission trip to Nyingchi, Tibet since March of 2014, together with three doctors from other hospitals in Shantou. In the past nine months, despite adverse circumstances and poor living conditions, the aid team were devoted to providing medical aid with enthusiasm and proficiency. They successfully completed the mission and return home in triumph on December 16, 2014. There is a saying in Chinese which says that it is better to teach a man to fish than to give him fish. In addition to medical care, they also offered clinical training to the local doctors so as to help improve the local healthcare quality.

This aid team was bestowed upon with the title “Excellent Aid-Tibet Team”, and the team members were honored as “Excellent Aid-Tibet Worker”.
