On the morning of February 28, the first International Medical Service Center in eastern Guangdong established by SUMC First Affiliated Hospital was put into operation.

Mayor Xiaotao Liu recognized the establishment of the International Medical Service Center, and commended that it would satisfy the medical service demand of foreigners in Shantou and play an active role in attracting foreign talents and overseas investments. SUMC Executive Dean Junhui Bian indicated that SUMC would integrate the resources of SUMC’s five affiliated hospitals to provide better medical services for international visitors to Shantou. Furthermore, Dean Bian expressed his confidence that the International Medical Service Center would certainly become a high-quality medical project that is recognized by the government and trusted by the international visitors to Shantou.

The members of the expert team at the International Medical Service Center have overseas educational backgrounds and rich experience in medical services. They are able to communicate with foreign patients without language barriers. The International Medical Service Center will serve as a high-quality, high-efficiency and convenient medical care platform for foreign patients.
