The student Zhang Yaning of SUMC has matched to a year position in a Surgery-Preliminary program in Cleveland Clinic in USA, according to this year's Match Day results announced by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) on March 17. Congratulations to Zhang Yaning!

NRMP, or Match Day, is the most important day in a medical student’s career when future doctors across the United States and Canada learn where they will be doing their residency training. After interviewing with programs, applicants and program directors rank each other in order of preference and submit their preference lists to NRMP. The NRMP then uses a mathematical algorithm to designate each applicant into a residency program.

This year 35,969 U.S. and international medical school students and graduates vied for 31,757 positions and 200 came from China.
