SUMC First Affiliated Hospital rose to 14th place in the results of the 2016 national competitiveness ranking of 100 city-level hospitals in China announced by the Hong Kong AILIBI Hospital Management Research Center on March 25, compared to 15th place in last year. The Hospital has moved up its rankings in a row to 28th, 26th, 22th, 20th, 17th and 14th for six consecutive years.

AILIBI calculated the results by assessing a vast amount of data in terms of hospital size, medical techniques, discipline development and advantages in special disciplines, and operation indices in a scientific, quantitative approach for the purpose of setting benchmarks for the hospitals at various levels.

SUMC First Affiliated Hospital has increased its overall strength rapidly over the past years. The Hospital has developed an integrated medical association consisting of eight medical institutions and eight community medical centers in order to facilitate carrying out the hierarchical diagnosis and treatment system and developing a tele-consultation platform and thus improve the patient experience.
