SUMC has established a cooperative partnership with the Hyogo College of Medicine in Japan since 1996, and both parties signed an Agreement of Academic Exchange in 1999. In the past 20 years, both colleges have developed a number of exchange and cooperation programs.

On May 16-17, President Koichi Noguchi and Dr. Zhouping Lin from Hyogo College of Medicine paid a visit to SUMC. They were warmly received by SUMC Executive Dean Junhui Bian, Executive Vice Dean Dongyang Huang and Vice Dean Danian Qin. Both sides had in-depth discussions on the exchange and cooperation in medical education between the two universities and expressed willingness to further strengthen cooperation.

During the visit, President Koichi Noguchi and Dr. Zhouping Lin were also given a tour of the main campus, new Medical Education Center and Neuroscience Center. Afterwards, they had a meeting with the SUMC students, faculties and physicians who once participated in or will be designated for fellowship, training or a PhD program at Hyogo College of Medicine.
