On May 31, organized by SUMC’s Office of Medical Aid for the Poor and led by Dr. Frieda Law of Li Ka Shing Foundation, a volunteer team consisting of Dr. Carlos González-Cabezas from University of Michigan School of Dentistry, three physicians and five students from SUMC, and doctors and volunteers at Baita Health Center went to Tadong Central Primary School in Jieyang Baita County to carry out the free dental health activities for local children.

240 students in Grade 4 and 5 received oral cavity examinations, fluoride treatments and a set of tooth brush and paste. The activities were welcomed by Tadong Central Primary School’s teachers, students and their parents. Afterwards, the volunteer team visited Baita Health Center Stomatology Department and the local private clinics to learn about the local oral health conditions.
