Two professors have made SUMC proud for being listed among the 2019 Most Cited Chinese Researchers in the latest rankings released by Elsevier on May 7, 2020. They are Prof. Melitta Schachner in biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology and Prof. Gu Jiang in medicine respectively.

Scientists named as the highly cited researchers are acknowledged as people of influence in science, and the works published by them are recognized as contributive to the advancement of scientific research. The 2019 List of Most Cited Chinese Researchers, which is based on a systematic analysis of Chinese scholars in terms of international status with objective data drawn from Elsevier’s Scopus research database, recognizes 2,163 scholars from 242 Chinese universities, research institutions and companies.
