On April 18 the Second Guangdong-Canada Biological Psychiatry Symposium co-hosted by Guangdong and Shantou University Mental Health Center was successfully held in the Shantou Longhu Hotel, presided over by Prof. Qingjun Huang, Director of the Mental Health Center.

The Symposium brought together more than one hundred domestic and abroad industry experts to exchange their views and opinions on the subject of Biological Psychiatry. Participants included a six-member delegation headed by Patrick C. Choy, Special Advisor to the President & Dean of Medicine from the University of Manitoba, Prof. Junhui Bian, SUMC Executive Dean, Dr. Frieda Law, Representative of Li Ka Shing Foundation at SUMC, and 130 national and provincial experts and scholars. Among them, 18 invited speakers delivered presentations on the recent advances in their research projects.

The Symposium was a great opportunity for researchers and clinicians in the field of biological psychiatry to share ideas and explore how to promote the clinical and research work in biological psychiatry.
