In April 2014, two SUMC students, Xu Xiaolu and Chen Junchen, together with over 60 students from other Chinese universities, attended the admission exam for an internship program at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), a renowned general hospital in Beijing. Xu and Chen ranked second and fifth respectively in the exam and both were offered an eight month internship at PUMCH. They have successfully completed the internship. As Xu commented, this experience enabled her to get familiar with the medical process and taught her how to build up a closer and more reliable relationship with patients. They attributed their success in the internship to the solid foundation of medical knowledge and clinical skills they acquired at SUMC.
