Dr. Zhensen Zhu from the Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery at SUMC’s Second Affiliated Hospital has recently received the 2017 Annita B. Robert Award at the 29th Annual Meeting of Wound Healing Society which was held in San Diego, USA on April 5-8, 2017. This Award was to recognize Dr. Zhu as an outstanding Young Investigator in wound healing research with the research article titled “The Natural Behavior of Mononuclear Phagocytes in HTS Formation”.

The Annita B. Robert Award is given annually to recognize and promote outstanding Young Investigators in the fields of wound healing and growth factor research, who have published the best research articles as a first author in the journal Wound Repair and Regeneration. The award is also to honor the memory of Annita B. Robert, former president of the Wound Healing Society, who passed away in 2006.
