Professor Trevor Young from Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto visited SUMC on June 30.

During the welcome meeting, Dean Junhui Bian of SUMC briefed Professor Young on the achievements SUMC has made in the recent years, and Dr. Frieda Law introduced the three major charity programs of the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Professor Young expressed his appreciation for SUMC’s reforms in medical education, its contribution to the society, and the outcomes of such initiatives as Clinical Enhancement Program. A meeting between Professor Young and SUMC’s students and faculty representatives followed. On the afternoon, Professor Young visited the Mental Health Center of SUMC.

Professor Young is also a psychiatrist. He has been appointed Dean of Faculty of Medicine for a five-year term effective January 1, 2015.
