On May 31st, Professor Xinmin Li of the University of Alberta Department of Psychiatry visited the Mental Health Centre and was warmly received by Vice Chair Xu and the staff of the joint laboratory.

During his visit, Dr. Li talked about medical education in the Faculty of Medicine and Department of Psychiatry, and introduced Alberta’s residency program in psychiatry and shared its experience on residents training. Both sides discussed in depth about psychiatry residents training, such as, methods of training, qualifications of teachers, and residents exchange. With an initial framework, they brought up the possibility of a joint mental health education and training center.
