On December 12, 2018 witnessed the opening of the Stomatology Clinic of Shantou University Medical College, which becomes the first public medical institution specialized in stomatology in Shantou, approved by Shantou Health and Family Planning Commission and funded by the Li Ka Shing Foundation.

This three-floor facility boasts 40 sets of modern, fully-equipped dental chair units and a qualified and experienced medical and office staff, and offers a complete range of dental care, surgical procedures, and cosmetic dental services. The Clinic is designed to improve access to oral health services in Chaoshan areas and beyond and provide training for students from the Department of Stomatology.

The Clinic will strive toward a modern dental hospital dedicated to improving oral health and enhancing prevention of oral diseases in Eastern Guangdong through effective integration of patient care, education, and scientific research.
