The Physical Education Department's mission is to improve the general health and fitness of our students through sports related and recreational activities.
We are responsible for the organization of all the college-wide sports activities and events at SUMC. Our teaching programs cover courses in sports theory, athletics, basketball, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, aerobics, yoga and classic Chinese martial arts such as tai ji chuan and wushu combating. In addition, we regularly organize all kinds of outdoor activities and sports competitions.
The Physical Education Department currently consists of six people and is headed by director Prof. Song-yuan Zheng.
