On April 27th, Prof. Joseph C. Kolars, Senior Associate Dean at the University of Michigan, and Dr. Amy Huang, Director for China programs for Global REACH, met with Executive Dean Bian and Li Ka Shing Foundation Representative Law. During the meeting, Dean Bian and Dr. Law introduced the overall development of SUMC and the healthcare initiatives of Li Ka Shing Foundation in mainland China. The visitors toured the STU library, the new Medical Building, and the First Affiliated Hospital. They were impressed with SUMC’s innovation in medical education and contributions to society.

Prof. Joseph C. Kolars is the Senior Associate Dean for Education and Global Initiatives at the University of Michigan. He was the program director of the largest residency program in the U.S. and have worked with Peking University and Peking Union Medical College on medical education reform, residents training, and medical students exchange.
