The Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Shantou University Medical College is a Level 3 hospital specialized in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It is the only clinical facility in Eastern Guangdong specializing in cancer therapy and research.

Since its inception in 1994, the Affiliated Cancer Hospital's top specialties have traditionally been breast cancer, esophageal cancer and nasopharyngeal cancer. Over the years, however, the hospital has developed extensive expertise in additional oncology specialty areas such as thoracic oncology, gynecological oncology, head and neck oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology and interventional oncology.

The Affiliated Cancer Hospital presently has over 480 employees, around 649 hospital beds, and over 30 clinical and technical departments.
